I was born into a Marine Corps family at Camp Lejeune making me a native North Carolinian. My interest in the CW grew when I discovered that my father was the third generation serving in the military based on an article in the Parris Island base newspaper.

My great-grandfather emigrated from England and served in Pennsylvania units. He was at Gettysburg and then on Sherman's March. He was present at Bentonville but not involved in the fighting.

As a history buff, I developed a keen interest in the CW and in our local area. I am a charter member of this organization and have been present for a vast majority of the meetings since inception.

I am also a member of the Anna M. Ross Camp #1 of the Penna. SUVCW which is the camp associated with the Penna regiment with which my great-grandfather served.
